Target Audience:
The target audience for Becoming a Rabbit Showman is 4-Hers active in the 4-H rabbit project. The age level of these individuals is 9 to 18 years old. The context for this video is a showmanship competition that takes place at either rabbit shows or fairs.
Purpose of the Video:
The purpose of this video is to teach 4-Hers how to compete in rabbit showmanship. It will show an individual going through and explaining each of the steps in being a successful showmanship competitor. The reason that I feel that video is an appropriate choice for teaching addressing this instructional problem is that showmanship is a sequential, hands-on process. Pictures and actions are necessary to describe how to go through the showmanship process in detail. The function this video plays is that it will allow 4-Hers to find out about showmanship by accessing this video on the web. Showmanship is normally taught in a workshop setting. Creating this video will allow me to reuse the workshop and present it to a wider audience throughout the United States.
